Implants Restorative

Dental implant restoration has quickly become the most popular restorative dental procedure. If you are missing a tooth or require tooth extraction, give us a call at (808) 674-9299 to determine if you are a candidate for dental implants. The dentist will determine if you have sufficient jaw bone and are in good enough health for the procedure. If you don’t have enough jaw bone or if the quality is not suitable for dental implants, you will likely be provided with a bone graft procedure.

If you are a solid candidate for dental implants, the dentist will add titanium rods to your jaw bone. These rods fuse into position across the next couple months in a process known as osseointegration. Once the titanium rods are firmly in place, the next step is to connect the abutment. A crown is added to the abutment to resemble an actual tooth.

Once your dental implants are in place, you will seize the opportunity to smile widely while interacting with others. An added bonus is the fact that dental implants function similar to regular teeth so you will be able to munch through food without worry. There is no need to fret about potential pain during the dental implant placement procedure as you will receive a local anesthetic that eliminates pain. The follow up care for your dental implant is the same as that for a conventional dental filling. Floss and brush your dental implants, visit with the dentist once every six months and your implant will look and function just like the rest of your regular teeth.
